Project 180 in Maine

Oct 25th, 2011 was marked on our private calendar for a long time. We knew that across the nation on this day many hearts would do a complete 180....from pro-choice to pro-life. Some in a matter of seconds...

In this most excellent presentation, Ray Comfort put together this 33 minute documentary comparing the Nazi holocaust to the American holocaust of today...Abortion. On Sep 26th this documentary went live on Youtube and in a months time had over 1 million views...God was moving powerfully, using this movie to bring about a heart change...now it was our time to contribute.

Months of planning and praying, a generous donor and over 200,000 copies were sent to various teams across the nation.  Our team Maine received 1200 copies of 180 to distribute to college students on the 2 USM campuses.

Jeff and I quickly went to work at bringing together a team of those who are passionate about life and eternity.  What an incredible team God gave us!  38 faithful followers of Christ, 24 were homeschooled children!  Our youngest member being 3 week old Joyanna Abbott...newborn daughter of Derek and Angie Abbott from Standish, Maine.

The police came over and asked to see what we were handing out. We gave them a DVD and told them we weren't selling anything, but that this was a FREE DVD. He was worried as he said he had heard that kids were passing out DVDs about the holocaust and we told him what is was about and he said that was fine and to "keep up the good work". He then said he couldn't stop us as this was our first amendment rights.

Some time later the chaplain, a lady, saw us handing out DVDs and she came with fire in her eyes and told us that we couldn't do this unless we went to the office and registered first and reserve a table and that it was their policy that we could not stop students and hand them things. We told her the police said we had every right and that we wouldn't stop as we were exercising our first amendment right.

We were just about depleted of DVDs when the police came over to inform us that we couldn't do this afterall, that he has worked there for 5 years and never knew of this policy of registering for a table first, he was sincerely apologetic. However we knew that wouldn't work, so we pressed on and dispersed to the public sidewalks around the campu and continued distributing the DVDs.  The chaplain of the university was certainly our biggest problem, she was very angry and said we were doing this all wrong.  Our team challenged her by saying she should be out here with us and not trying to stop us.

All in all we had no opposition, most students gratefully took a free DVD.  Pray that the DVDs would be the tool God uses to change hearts, bring those who are in darkness into the Kingdom of His Son!  May America do a complete 180 to the glory of God! Enjoy the photo below of the event.

Portland Team

We gathered at 11am and prayed together, then we disbursed and started handing out the DVD's, telling folks to watch this "Incredible documentary that made over a millon views on Youtube in less than a month!" "Watch this DVD that compares the Nazi holocaust with the American holocaust!" Curiosity always grabbed folks, "what, there's an American holocaust?" Often they would ask, "What holocaust?"  Watch it and find out....
